Which sitting or wheelchair hyperbaric chamber should I choose?

Choose by how the user gets in and out first, then by pressure. Sit-in chambers suit users who can step in and sit down. Sit-or-lie chambers let the user switch position. Wheelchair-entry chambers let the user roll in and stay in their own chair. Every chamber below is listed on Selected Comfort with the entry style and pressure shown.

Who should buy a sitting or wheelchair-entry chamber?

A sitting or wheelchair-entry chamber is the better fit for users who find it hard to get down to the floor of a lying chamber and back up again, such as older users and people with stiff knees or hips. If the user already relies on a wheelchair, choose a chamber built for wheelchair entry rather than trying to transfer into a sit-in chamber. If the user wants to lie flat for the whole session, a lying chamber in our soft and portable hyperbaric chambers range is the better match.

How do wheelchair-accessible hyperbaric chambers work?

Wheelchair-accessible hyperbaric chambers are sized and shaped so the user can roll in. The OxyRevo Heal40 measures 67 in long, 62 in wide and 75 in high once inflated, with an aluminum base and slope for rolling in; a regular chair can also be placed inside. The Macy-Pan MC4000 offers a U-type or N-type door, and the TECNOTU Home Use Soft 1.3ATA chamber is a portable mild chamber built for wheelchair users. Measure the wheelchair's width and seated height and send them to us before ordering.

Soft or hard-shell: what pressure do I need?

Soft sitting chambers on this page run at 1.2 to 1.5 ATA and start at $5,750. Hard-shell sitting chambers run at 1.5 to 2.0 ATA and start at $27,450. Our 1.5 ATA vs 2.0 ATA hyperbaric chamber guide and soft vs hard shell comparison explain the trade-offs, and the full hard-shell range is in hard-shell hyperbaric chambers. Selected Comfort does not make medical claims for any chamber; ask the user's doctor whether hyperbaric sessions suit them.

What should I measure before ordering?

  1. The room footprint, including ceiling height for vertical chambers such as the Macy-Pan HE5000 FORT (220 × 100 × 180 cm) and the OxyRevo Heal40 (75 in high when inflated).
  2. Every doorway, hallway and turn on the delivery route.
  3. For wheelchair users, the chair's width and seated height.
  4. Space and a power outlet for the oxygen concentrator and any air cooler that comes with the chamber.

Sitting & Wheelchair-Accessible Hyperbaric Chambers: frequently asked questions

What is a sitting hyperbaric chamber?

A sitting hyperbaric chamber is one you use seated upright instead of lying flat. Selected Comfort's sitting models range from soft 1.3 to 1.5 ATA chambers, such as the TECNOTU Portable 1.5ATA Sitting chamber, to 2.0 ATA hard-shell cabins such as the OxyRevo Space60 2.0ATA and the Macy-Pan HE5000 FORT.

Can a wheelchair user get into a home hyperbaric chamber?

Yes, if the chamber is built for wheelchair entry. Three models here are: the OxyRevo Heal40, which has an aluminum base and slope to roll in, the TECNOTU Home Use Soft 1.3ATA Wheelchair chamber, and the Macy-Pan MC4000 with a U- or N-type door. Send us the chair's width before you order, and ask the user's doctor whether hyperbaric sessions suit them.

How much does a sitting hyperbaric chamber cost?

Sitting and wheelchair chambers on Selected Comfort are listed from $5,750 for the TECNOTU 1.5ATA Recline soft chamber to $59,900 for the Macy-Pan HE5000 FORT. Most soft sitting and wheelchair chambers sit between $5,750 and $13,500. Hard-shell sitting chambers start at $27,450 for the TECNOTU TecnoSit Ultra. Prices are as listed in October 2026.

Can two people use a sitting hyperbaric chamber together?

Some can. The Macy-Pan MC4000 comes in a dual-person MC4000-U version, and the Macy-Pan HE5000 FORT is a vertical hard-shell chamber designed for one or two users. Most other sitting chambers on this page are single-person. Our 2-person hyperbaric chamber guide compares larger options.

Is a sitting chamber better than a lying chamber?

Neither is better for everyone. A sitting or wheelchair-entry chamber suits users who find it hard to get down to the floor and back up, such as older users or people with stiff knees or hips. A lying chamber suits users who want to lie flat. Our sitting vs lying hyperbaric chamber guide compares the two in detail.
