2-Person Hyperbaric Chamber: Buyer's Guide for Homes & Clinics (2026)
Which 2-person hyperbaric chamber should you buy? For most homes, the TECNOTU DUO Series is the easiest hard shell to get into the room. Clinics seating more than two should look at the HE5000 Plus. What decides it: whether you both want the same pressure.

Quick answer
- Same pressure, same time of day? Buy one chamber. Different on either? Buy two singles.
- Hard shells weigh about 440 to 990 lb (200 to 450 kg) empty, before two adults climb in. Your floor has to handle it.
- Most hard-shell 2-person models run $18k to $35k. 4- or 5-seat multiplace chambers start around $28k and go past $80k.
- Clinic owners: call your fire marshal first. Many places hold these rooms to NFPA 99, Chapter 14.
What is a 2-person or multiplace chamber?
A multiplace hyperbaric chamber is one pressurized cabin that holds two or more people. A monoplace holds one. Fire code draws the same line: NFPA 99, Chapter 14, calls the shared ones Class A and the solo ones Class B.
At home that's nearly always two seats; clinics go to four, five or six. Each person gets their own oxygen mask or headset, and depending on the model you sit or lie down. A "double hyperbaric chamber" is the same thing.
At Selected Comfort, we sell 2-person and multiplace chambers from TECNOTU and Macy-Pan, and we check your room, floor and power with you before you order. You can see every option in our hyperbaric chambers collection.
Should you buy one 2-person chamber or two singles?
Two things decide it: similar schedules and the same pressure. If both hold, buy one shared chamber. If either doesn't, buy two singles.
| Your situation | What I'd suggest |
|---|---|
| You both want the same ATA and like to sit together | One 2-person chamber |
| One of you wants 1.5 ATA, the other 2.0 | Two singles |
| You'd rather go in at different times | Two singles |
| A caregiver needs to sit in with a senior | A 2-person chamber, if that model allows it |
| You might sell one later | Two singles. Easier to resell separately |
Caregivers: check first
I only recommend a caregiver seat when the manufacturer approves that seating for the model, and we'll check before you order. If the real problem is getting in and out, read my sitting vs lying hyperbaric chamber guide, which covers chambers for a caregiver and user together.

MACY-PAN HE5000 Fort$59,900
Seated 1–2 person hard shell up to 2.0 ATA, a good fit when a caregiver sits in.
View productWho actually buys these?
Three groups: couples, clinics and spare-room upgraders who want 2.0 ATA. Each needs a different chamber.
Couples. If you were going to do this anyway, you might as well do it side by side. A soft chamber like the MACY-PAN ST2200 fits two people at 1.3 to 1.4 ATA. For most home use, I think 1.3 to 1.5 ATA is enough. My soft vs hard shell guide covers the times it isn't.
Chiropractors, wellness studios and recovery gyms. Shopping for a hyperbaric chamber for clinic use with clients already waiting? I'd start you on a solid 2-person hard shell. If demand is still a hunch, the room's small, or you want to see ROI first, start with one single. You can add another later.
The spare-room, bigger-budget crowd who want 2.0 ATA and a lounge interior. Fair enough. Read the 1.5 ATA vs 2.0 ATA guide before you decide, because one regret I keep hearing is from buyers who never asked what pressure they'd actually run day to day.

MACY-PAN ST2200$10,900 – $14,800
The lowest-cost way for a couple to share sessions at mild pressure.
View productRoom and installation checklist
When an install surprises someone, it's usually the doorway, the floor, or the room turning into a sauna from poor airflow. Run through these steps before you order.
- Measure the way in. Walk the route the delivery crew will take: doors, that tight corner at the top of the stairs, the elevator. What has to fit is the biggest piece in the crate, not the finished chamber.
- Add up the weight. Chamber, two adults, concentrators, air unit. Upstairs or in an older house? Get an engineer to look at the floor.
- Leave walking room. The door swings, you'll want to get around the back, and somebody has to reach the controls. For scale, the TECNOTU Ultra 2-person takes up about 54 sq ft (5 m²) by itself.
- Ask about power. Every model is different. Find out if it's 110 V or 220 V and whether it needs a dedicated circuit, and book your electrician before delivery day, not after.
- Plan for heat and noise. Compressors and concentrators run warm and they hum. A small room with the door shut makes both worse.
- Give installers elbow room. A modular chamber gets bolted together in your room, so clear more floor than it'll take up when it's finished.
- Clinics, check the code. Your fire marshal or building department has the final say. Minnesota's, for example, applies NFPA 99 Chapter 14 to mild hyperbaric chambers in non-healthcare buildings.
Quick math
A 2-person hard shell at about 990 lb, plus two adults at roughly 180 lb each, is already over 1,300 lb before you add the oxygen concentrators and air unit. Share that number with whoever checks your floor.
The TECNOTU DUO Series comes apart into segments, which helps on tight stairs. Still ask us for segment sizes before you order.

TECNOTU DUO Series$17,950 (1.5 ATA) · $26,250 (2.0 ATA)
Splits into 6 segments (1.5 ATA) or 3 (2.0 ATA), so it gets through tight stairways.

Mistakes I'd avoid
Most regrets come from skipping a question before ordering. These are the four I see most.
Avoid
- Buying a 2-person chamber when you two don't want the same pressure. You'll just end up taking turns.
- Measuring the room and never measuring the way in.
- Not asking about working pressure. The spec-sheet maximum isn't always what you'll run daily.
- Counting on insurance or HSA/FSA without asking your plan.
The bottom line
If you both want the same pressure at the same time of day, one 2-person chamber is the better buy. If not, two singles will serve you better and resell more easily. Measure the delivery route, add up the floor load and confirm your power before you order.
For most homes, start with the TECNOTU DUO Series; for clinics, the HE5000 Plus. Quick note: I sell chambers, I'm not a doctor. Check with yours before you start hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best 2 person hyperbaric chamber for home use?
For most homes, a modular hard shell such as the TECNOTU DUO Series is the easiest to install because it splits into segments for tight stairs. If you both want 2.0 ATA in a slimmer footprint, the MACY-PAN HP2202 40-inch model is a strong alternative.
How much space does a 2 person hyperbaric chamber need?
More than the chamber itself, since you need to walk around it. The TECNOTU Ultra 2-person takes about 54 sq ft on its own, while a slimmer model like the HP2202 needs less. Leave room for the door to open and for the oxygen equipment beside it.
What's the difference between monoplace and multiplace hyperbaric chambers?
A monoplace chamber holds one person. A multiplace chamber holds two or more people in the same pressurized cabin. NFPA 99 classes multiplace chambers as Class A and monoplace chambers as Class B.
Can a couple share one hyperbaric chamber?
Yes, if you are both comfortable with the same pressure and the same session length. When one of you wants a different pressure or schedule, two single chambers work better.
How much does a 2 person hyperbaric chamber cost?
Soft 2-person chambers start around $10,900, most hard-shell 2-person chambers cost about $18,000 to $35,000, and premium seated models run near $60,000. Shipping, electrical work and installation are extra.
Do I need a dedicated circuit for a 2-person hyperbaric chamber?
It depends on the model. Some run on 110 V and others need 220 V or a dedicated circuit, so confirm the power requirements before you order and have an electrician ready before delivery day.
Is a 2-person chamber a good fit for a wellness center?
Yes, if you already have clients waiting for sessions. If you are still testing demand, one single chamber is enough to start, and you can add a second chamber later.
