Hyperbaric Chamber for Clinic Use: Pricing, ROI and Best Models (2026)

What hyperbaric chamber should a clinic buy? The smallest hard shell your current clients will fill. For most new clinics that's a 2-person TECNOTU Duo; once you can sell group slots, the 4-person TECNOTU Quad has the lowest cost per seat.

Quick answer
  • Per seat, the 4-person Quad is the cheapest chamber we list, at about $6,950 a seat. A one-person hard shell starts at $16,450 a seat.
  • An empty seat earns nothing. What matters is how many clients you can book into the same slot.
  • In our example numbers, a Quad covers its monthly costs with about 3 paid seats a day. Your rent and payroll set the real number.
  • Many manufacturer warranties exclude commercial use. Get the terms for your exact model in writing, on the quote.

Which hyperbaric chamber for clinic use should you buy?

The smallest one your current clients will fill. You can add seats later; you can't un-buy a half-empty 6-person suite.

At Selected Comfort, we help clinics and wellness centers size chambers to the bookings they already have. These are the five hard shells clinic buyers ask me about most, at today's list price. See every model in our hard-shell hyperbaric chambers collection.

The Quad and Social Suite both stop at 1.5 ATA. For group sessions at 2.0 ATA, the HE5000 Plus is the only option here.

How much does a commercial hyperbaric chamber cost per seat?

Divide price by seats and the order flips. The Quad comes out at $6,950 a seat. The Social Suite is close behind at about $7,140. The HE5000 Plus lands near $11,980, and most of that premium is the 2.0 ATA rating. A one-person hard shell, from $16,450, is the priciest seat you can buy.

1 seat$16,450 / seat

Single-Person Modular. Full flexibility, highest cost per seat.

2 seats$8,975 / seat

Duo Series at 1.5 ATA. Cheapest way to add a second seat.

4–6 seats$6,950–$7,142 / seat

Quad or Social Suite. Lowest cost per seat, if you fill the slots.

When a clinic calls me, the first question I ask isn't about budget. It's how many clients they already see who'd book a group session. If the honest answer is "a few a week", I point them at the Duo. It's the cheapest way to get a second seat, it runs at 2.0 ATA if needed, and it fits through ordinary doors in sections.

TECNOTU Duo Series 2-Person Modular Hyperbaric Chamber
TECNOTU Duo Series$17,950 (1.5 ATA) · $26,250 (2.0 ATA)

Two seats, modular sections that fit standard doors, and a 2.0 ATA option. Our usual pick for a first clinic chamber.

How do you calculate hyperbaric chamber business ROI?

Work out how many paid seats a month cover your costs. Everything above that number is margin.

The break-even formula

Quick math

Break-even paid seats per month = monthly fixed costs ÷ (price per seat − cost per seat)

Monthly fixed costs = chamber payment + staff + rent share + insurance + power and upkeep.

A worked example with a Quad

The numbers below are made up. Swap in yours.

  1. Chamber payment: TECNOTU Quad at $27,800, financed at a sample 9.99% APR over 60 months, is about $591 a month.
  2. Other fixed costs: staff time, a share of rent, insurance and power add $6,000 a month. Total: roughly $6,591.
  3. Margin per seat: you charge $100 a seat and each session costs you $10 in consumables and power, so each paid seat leaves $90.
  4. Break-even: $6,591 ÷ $90 = 74 paid seats a month. Open 26 days a month and that's about three seats a day, out of 24 available.

Three a day sounds easy. Early on, it often isn't. Above 74 is margin; below it, the loan still leaves your account.

Is a single or multiplace hyperbaric chamber better for a wellness center?

It depends on how clients book. A recovery studio where members train together can fill group slots. A practice booking one client at a time mostly can't.

Watch out

Everyone inside a multi-person cabin shares one pressure and one session length. Put a single client in a Quad and you've run a $27,800 chamber as a one-seater.

Two Duos cost $35,900, which is $8,100 more than one Quad. What you get for that: two pressures, two schedules, and a chamber still earning when the other one needs service. For a clinic that's still finding its client mix, I'd take the two Duos. Once you can reliably sell three or four seats in the same hour, the Quad wins on cost per seat. Our 2-person hyperbaric chamber guide goes deeper on the two-seat models.

What does the room need for space, power and installation?

Start with the route in, not the room. Modular chambers come in sections; the HE5000 Plus arrives in one piece.

  • The Quad arrives in 8 modules sized for standard commercial doors and passenger elevators.
  • The 1.5 ATA Duo comes in 6 segments.
  • The HE5000 Plus is a one-piece steel cabin about 98 x 63 x 69 inches and roughly 500 kg, with a 20 x 46 inch door.

Measure every doorway on the way, and have someone check the floor. Leave airflow space for the oxygen concentrator and control unit, and have an electrician confirm your circuits can run everything at once.

Chambers ship by freight and are delivered to the curb. Once the boxes are inside, I walk you through setup on a video call through our hyperbaric installation support.

Does the manufacturer warranty cover commercial use?

Not always. Each manufacturer sets its own terms, and many exclude commercial use of chambers built for the home. We confirm the warranty for each model on your quote.

Commercial buyer checklist

  1. Written warranty terms for commercial use, for the chamber, compressor and concentrator
  2. Who does service, and how long parts take to arrive
  3. The 510(k) clearance status of the exact model, if you plan to make any medical claims
  4. Doorway, hallway and elevator measurements, plus floor loading
  5. Power needs for every piece of equipment
  6. A liability policy that names hyperbaric sessions

How claims work with each manufacturer is on our warranty page.

How can a clinic finance a hyperbaric chamber?

Get a written trade quote first; business purchases don't follow consumer loan rules, and we confirm payment options order by order. Ask your accountant how the purchase is treated for tax, for example under Section 179 in IRS Publication 946. Sample monthly payments are in our hyperbaric chamber financing guide.

What rules apply before your first paid session?

The FDA classifies hyperbaric chambers as Class II devices under 21 CFR 868.5470, and each model needs its own clearance for medical use. The chambers in this guide are sold for general wellness.

Avoid

Don't advertise treatment outcomes. New to clearance? Read whether you need a prescription.

The FDA's August 2025 letter to providers asks facilities to follow the maker's instructions, train staff, watch every client for the whole session and enforce fire safety. Ask your local fire marshal whether NFPA 99 applies, before you sign the lease.

Frequently asked questions

What hyperbaric chamber should a clinic buy?

Buy the smallest hard-shell chamber your current clients will fill. Most new clinics start with a one- or two-person chamber such as the TECNOTU Duo, then move to the 4-person TECNOTU Quad once they can reliably sell group slots, because the Quad has the lowest cost per seat.

How much does a hyperbaric chamber for clinic use cost?

Clinic-ready hard shells start at $16,450 for one person, $17,950 for the 2-person Duo, $27,800 for the 4-person Quad, $42,850 for the 6-person Social Oxygen Suite and $59,900 for the HE5000 Plus. Trade pricing is quoted on request.

How many sessions can one chamber run a day?

Allow 90 minutes a block and an 8 to 9 hour day fits about six. A 4-seat chamber gives you about 24 seat-sessions a day. Only the filled ones pay.

Is starting a hyperbaric business profitable?

It can be, if existing clients fill the seats. Divide monthly fixed costs by what each paid seat leaves you, then compare that break-even number with your real bookings.

Is a single or multiplace chamber better for a new wellness center?

Start with one or two seats unless you already sell group sessions. Move up to a multiplace chamber when your booking calendar shows the demand.

Do manufacturer warranties cover commercial use?

Not always. Many manufacturers exclude commercial use of home models. Selected Comfort confirms the warranty terms for each model in writing on your quote.
