How much does a traditional sauna cost?

Traditional saunas on Selected Comfort are listed from $7,799 for the Medical Saunas Traditional 5 and $7,999 for the Golden Designs GDI728902 and GDI720201 2-person models, up to $18,999 for the 6-person GDI820601. Hybrid models run to $24,999 for the GDI822601. Prices are as listed in October 2026.

What size stove does a home sauna need?

The listings here pair smaller 2- to 3-person cabins with a 6.0 kW stove and 6-person cabins with an 8.0 kW stove. Some 3-person cabins, such as the GDI738902, use an 8.0 kW stove. Use the stove supplied with the cabin you choose rather than swapping it.

Does a traditional sauna need a 240V outlet?

Yes. Traditional sauna stoves need a dedicated 240V circuit. The Golden Designs GDI703001, for example, lists 240V / 30 amp, and the GDI720601 lists 240V / 40 amp for the stove. Have a licensed electrician install the circuit before the sauna arrives.

Can I get steam in a hybrid sauna?

Yes, when you run the traditional stove. A hybrid sauna such as the Golden Designs GDI833001 or GDI822601 pairs a stove with full spectrum infrared heaters, so you can pour water on the stones during a stove session or switch to an infrared-only session at a lower temperature.

The Golden Designs GDI706001 is a six-person traditional steam sauna in Pacific Premium Clear Cedar, built for indoor or covered outdoor use. Its 8.0 kW stove brings the room to 170°F to 185°F (up to 190°F), and the deep 57" x 65" interior gives a group space to sit back.

Clear tempered glass door panels keep it bright. Inside there is a backrest with accent lighting, chromotherapy lighting with a red light setting, and an LED control panel with FM radio and Bluetooth through built-in speakers. A sandglass, bucket and scoop are included.
