Kahuna SM-7300 vs SM-7300S: Differences Explained (2026)

Last updated: October 14, 202610 min readBy Vineet Arora, Founder, Selected Comfort

What is the difference between the Kahuna SM-7300 and the SM-7300S? The names are almost the same, and most retailer listings share the same photos, so it is easy to feel unsure which chair you are looking at. That matters when you are spending thousands of dollars. Below we lay out what each model is, how the rollers and track compare, and which one fits your body and budget. We also explain the newer, upgraded SM7300 that we sell, because it is a different chair again.

Quick answer
  • The SM-7300 is Kahuna's original SL-track chair with 6 rollers, 9 auto programs and 3 zero gravity positions. Kahuna no longer shows it on its website.
  • The SM-7300S is the follow-up. Kahuna lists it with 3D rollers, and retailers list a 48" SL-track, 13 auto programs, yoga-style stretching and a fit for users up to 6'5" and 320 lb.
  • Retail prices we found for the SM-7300S ran from about $3,200 to $4,000 in October 2026.
  • Selected Comfort does not sell the SM-7300 or SM-7300S. We sell the upgraded SM7300 (Kahuna's Dios-7300) with a 7D dual core (4D+3D) roller system at $8,999, and the $3,799 Dios-6800 as the closest match on price.
  • Top picks for 2026: Kahuna SM7300 upgraded (Black), Kahuna SM7300 upgraded (Beige) and the Kahuna Dios-6800.

At Selected Comfort, we help families choose home wellness equipment they will actually use, from lift chairs to full-body massage chairs. We carry the current Kahuna line in our Kahuna massage chairs collection, and our team can talk you through sizing, delivery and setup before you buy.

SM-7300 vs SM-7300S at a glance

The SM-7300S is the newer, better-equipped version of the SM-7300. It adds 3D rollers, more programs and stretching. The upgraded SM7300 we sell is a bigger step up again, with two separate roller sets.

What is the Kahuna SM-7300?

The SM-7300 is Kahuna's earlier full-body SL-track recliner. It became popular online because it packed an L-shaped track, zero gravity and lots of airbags into a mid-range price.

Published specs for the original are thin. Here is what we could confirm from retailer and review listings:

  • SL-track with a 6-roller system
  • 9 auto programs and 3 strength levels
  • 36 airbags and 3 zero gravity positions
  • Body size about 47" high, 28" wide and 48" deep, weighing about 236 lb
  • Faux leather upholstery and a 2-year manufacturer warranty

Kahuna's own website no longer lists the SM-7300. When we checked in October 2026, the homepage showed the SM-7300S instead, and the Kahuna store sold the Dios-7300 as the "Upgraded SM7300 Version."

Watch out

Some sellers still use "SM-7300" and "SM-7300S" photos and titles interchangeably. Always check the full model number (for example SM-7300DB vs SM-7300SDB at Home Depot) before you pay.

What is the Kahuna SM-7300S?

The SM-7300S is the refreshed version of the SM-7300. Kahuna describes it simply as having 3D rollers for larger and taller users. Retailers add the rest of the detail.

Massage Chair Store lists a 48" SL-track, 3D rollers, 13 auto programs, 4 stretching programs including a yoga stretch, foot rollers, and heat for the lower back and legs. It also lists 3 roller widths, 5 air pressure levels and a three-stage zero gravity recline that goes to 157 degrees.

Topture lists the same chair as fitting users up to 6'5" and 320 lb. It needs only about 3 inches of space from the wall thanks to its space-saving recline. It also has built-in casters, Bluetooth speakers and a touch-screen remote.

Prices vary. In October 2026 we saw $3,199.99 at Massage Chair Store and $3,999 at Topture. Colors listed include Black, Dark Brown and Black/Dark Brown.

The key differences, explained

The biggest change is the rollers. After that come programs, stretching, body fit and the space-saving recline. Here is what each change means for you.

Rollers: why 3D matters

2D rollers move up, down and side to side at a fixed depth. 3D rollers add an in-and-out motion, so you can set how far they press into your back. Kahuna lists the SM-7300S with 3D rollers. It does not publish a roller type for the original SM-7300, so we cannot say for sure whether it is 2D.

If you like a firmer massage, or you share the chair with someone who prefers it gentle, adjustable depth is the feature to look for.

Track: SL on both

Both chairs use an SL-track, which curves along your spine and then runs under your seat to reach the glutes and upper hamstrings. Retailers list the SM-7300S track at 48 inches. We could not find a published track length for the original SM-7300.

Programs and stretching

The original has 9 auto programs. The SM-7300S is listed with 13, including 4 stretching modes, plus named programs such as Office Person, Golfer and Senior Mode. One retailer lists both 9 and 13 on the same page, so treat 13 as the likely figure, not a guarantee.

Body fit and space

The SM-7300S is the one Kahuna aims at taller and larger users, with a listed limit of 6'5" and 320 lb. Its space-saving recline also helps in smaller rooms, since it sits about 3 inches from the wall.

Pro tip

Measure your doorways and the spot where the chair will go before you order. Leave room for the leg rest to extend in full recline, not just for the chair sitting upright.

The third option: the upgraded SM7300 we sell

Selected Comfort does not sell the SM-7300 or the SM-7300S. What we do sell is Kahuna's newest take on the same chair: the upgraded Kahuna SM7300 in Black and Beige, which Kahuna's own store sells as the Dios-7300. Both are $8,999.

It is a much bigger upgrade than the S model. Instead of one roller set, it has two that run at the same time:

  • 7D dual core: a 4D roller module for the upper body and a 3D module for the lower body, each with its own intensity
  • 24 AI auto programs plus full manual mode and adjustable roller width
  • Air Float system, thigh and calf airbags, ankle airbags, foot rollers and 3D calf kneading
  • Micro-current body scanning to set roller position
  • Heat, Bluetooth audio, LCD touchscreen remote and 3 zero gravity positions
  • Our listing says it fits users up to 6'5" and 360 lb, with an open-toe footrest for larger feet

The listing also mentions a built-in health check display that shows readings like SpO2 and heart rate. Treat that as a comfort feature, not a medical device. If you have a health condition, ask your doctor before using any massage chair.

Check before you order

One of our SM7300 listings shows a lower user range (6'3" and 280 lb). If you are near the top of the size range, call us so we can confirm the right figure with Kahuna before you buy.

If the SM-7300S price range is closer to your budget, the nearest chair we carry is the Kahuna Dios-6800 at $3,799. It has a 6D dual core (3D+3D) roller system, a 50" SL-track, 9 auto programs, heat, Bluetooth and zero gravity. For a smaller room and a lower price, the Dios Hani at $1,999 is a compact 3-in-1 option with a 52" SL-track.

Who should buy which

Choose by your budget, your body size and how deep you like your massage. Here is how we would steer most buyers.

How to choose in 5 steps

The right chair is the one that fits your body, your room and your budget. Work through these steps in order.

  1. Check your height and weight against the listed limits. Taller and heavier users should look at the SM-7300S or the upgraded SM7300.
  2. Decide how deep you like it. If you want adjustable depth, skip anything without 3D or 4D rollers.
  3. Measure your space, including the wall gap and full recline length.
  4. Set your budget, then compare the warranty and who handles service.
  5. Confirm the exact model number on the listing before you pay.
Before-you-buy checklist
  • Model number matches the specs you want
  • Your height and weight are inside the listed range
  • Doorways and room space are measured
  • Warranty length and onsite service are clear
  • Delivery and setup options are confirmed

The bottom line

The SM-7300S is the better pick over the original SM-7300. It adds 3D rollers, more programs, stretching and a clearer fit for taller users, usually for about $3,200 to $4,000. The original is now hard to find and thinly documented.

We do not sell either one. If you want the most from the 7300 line, the upgraded SM7300 at $8,999 adds dual 4D+3D rollers and 24 AI programs. If you want SM-7300S money, the Dios-6800 at $3,799 is our closest match.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Kahuna SM-7300 and SM-7300S?

The SM-7300S is the newer version. Kahuna lists it with 3D rollers, and retailers list a 48" SL-track, 13 auto programs, 4 stretching programs and a fit for users up to 6'5" and 320 lb. The original SM-7300 has 6 rollers, 9 auto programs and 36 airbags, with no published roller type.

Does Selected Comfort sell the Kahuna SM-7300S?

No. We sell the upgraded Kahuna SM7300 (Kahuna's Dios-7300) with a 7D dual core roller system at $8,999. If you want a chair near the SM-7300S price, the Kahuna Dios-6800 at $3,799 is our closest match.

How much does the Kahuna SM-7300S cost?

In October 2026 we found it listed at $3,199.99 at Massage Chair Store and $3,999 at Topture. Prices change often, so compare the total cost, including delivery, setup and warranty, before you buy.

Is the Kahuna SM-7300S good for tall people?

It is the model in the line that Kahuna aims at taller and larger users. Retailers list it for users up to 6'5" and 320 lb. If you are near those limits, the upgraded SM7300 we sell is listed up to 6'5" and 360 lb.

What is the Kahuna Dios-7300?

The Dios-7300 is what Kahuna's own store calls the upgraded SM7300. It has a 7D dual core roller system (4D upper, 3D lower), 24 AI programs, 3D calf kneading and 3 zero gravity positions. It costs $8,999 and comes in Black or Beige.

Are 3D rollers worth it in a massage chair?

For most people, yes. 3D rollers move in and out as well as up and down, so you can set how deep they press. That makes one chair work for people who like a firm massage and people who prefer a light one.
